Timeline:

This project was an advertising project I worked on during my graduate studies. Our group's client was a startup called VOTR. We designed a series of marketing campaigns for them and, in the end, created a special version of the UI for their app in collaboration with the dating app Tinder.

Gen Z Voters Primary Research

Online Survey: To better understand the target audience, we conducted an online survey with respondents aged 18-29. The survey primarily focused on their attitudes toward the U.S. election, their willingness to use AI tools in politics, and their views on social issues.

VOTR App Renovation

The collaboration proposal with Tinder received excellent feedback from the client. Inspired by this event, I also helped VOTR redesign their user experience and user interface.

HMW Question

How might we build a community that unites Gen Z voters and encourages them to participate in elections?

Advice from Test Users

  • Use single column for Trend

  • Remove menu bar from landing page

  • Move emoji tool to Sticker

  • Add block function to others' home pages

  • Use hand-drawn style stickers

  • Implement a hamburger menu

  • Add group chat overview

  • Add descriptions to recommended users

Overall

User tests showed the design is smooth and user-friendly. Next, we’ll enhance interactivity and artistry for a more natural, hand-drawn board experience.

A Gen Z girl interested in abortion rights wanted to learn about related policies.

She discovered VOTRNET and connected with many people who share her interest in the topic.

She joined a related group chat and invited members to work on the collaborative board.

Together, they completed the board.

They met up at an assembly to encourage others to join the election and fight for their rights.
